Day 1 (Sat) New York/St. Petersburg
Join our evening departure from New York to St. Petersburg, Russia.
Day 2 (Sun) St. Petersburg
Afternoon arrival in St. Petersburg, the "Venice of the North." The city is connected by an intricate system of canals and bridges. Founded by Peter the Great in 1703, the city was virtually destroyed during World War II, but since then its’ beautiful buildings have been restored. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Welcome dinner this evening. (D)
Day 3 (Mon) St. Petersburg
A sightseeing tour takes us to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the golden spired fortress of St. Peter and Paul, Decembrist’s Square, Nevsky Prospekt Boulevard, the great cathedral of Kazan and the Winter Palace – former residence of Russian Tzars.
Afternoon: ATTEND CME PROGRAM. Balance of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 4 (Tue) St. Petersburg
This morning we go to the historic Palace Square and the baroque styled Winter Palace, home of the famous Hermitage Museum. Known as one of the world's finest, the Hermitage Museum has over 3 million exhibits including works from Da Vinci, Rembrandt and Picasso. Balance of the day is on your own. Overnight. (B)
Day 5 (Wed) St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg is a city of incomparable architectural, artistic and historic interest. Your final morning here will be at leisure. This afternoon you will visit the fabulous gardens and fountains of Peter The Great’s Summer residence at Petrodvorets. Dinner this evening in St. Petersburg. (B, D)
Day 6 (Thu) St. Petersburg/Moscow
Morning at leisure. This afternoon you will be transferred to the train station to take a business class train to Moscow with boxed dinner on the train. Late evening arrival in Moscow. (B, D)
Day 7 (Fri) Moscow
Moscow, one of the largest cities in the world, is the symbolic heart and soul of the country. Sightseeing begins at the Red Square, dominated by St. Basil's Cathedral and by the massive red walls of the Kremlin. Visit the Armory Museum, proceed to see the Moscow University and the popular Arbat shopping district. Continue with a drive along the wide boulevards and then stroll through GUM, Russia’s largest department store. Afternoon: ATTEND CME PROGRAM. (B)
Day 8 (Sat) Moscow
This last day in Moscow has been set aside for your own individual pursuits. Optional orientation tour of Moscow Subway, to see the metro stations which Stalin called “Palaces for the people”. (B)
Day 9 (Sun) Moscow/New York
After breakfast depart for New York. (B)
