Day 1 (Thu) New York/Ankara
Join our departure from New York to Ankara.
Day 2 (Fri) Ankara
Upon arrival into Ankara, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel. A welcome dinner awaits us this evening. (D)
Day 3 (Sat) Ankara/ Cappadocia
Morning tour will feature a view of Hittite artifacts at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey. Afternoon drive to Cappadocia, touring a 13th century caravan inn en route. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. (B,L,D)
Day 4 (Sun) Cappadocia
Morning tour of Goreme’s rock chapels decorated with 6th century frescoes, Zelve’s cliff-side Byzantine monastic complex and Uchisar’s natural citadel. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 5 (Mon) Cappadocia/ Pamukkale
Drive to Pamukkale. En route visit the famous mausoleum of the sufi philosopher Mevlana. Today is the day to pay a visit to the unique Cotton Fortress, the white calcium cascades, and also visit to one of the first modern spa centers of the ancient world – Hierapolis. Accommodations at your hotel in Pamukkale and overnight. (B,L)
Day 6 (Tue) Ephesus/ Kusadasi
Today you will visit the magnificent ruins of ancient Ephesus and see St. Mary’s cottage. Continue to Kusadasi for overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 7 (Wed) Kusadasi/ Izmir
After breakfast, depart Kusadasi to Izmir. Upon arrival, orientation tour of Izmir followed by check in to your hotel. Afternoon CME MEETING in a local hospital. Overnight. (B)
Day 8 (Thu) Pergamum/ Troy/ Canakkale
Visit Pergamon, one of the world's great archeological sites. See the 4th century B.C. Temple of Asclepios, the ancient god of Medicine and Altar of Zeus, then tour Troy with it’s famous wooden horse and continue on to Canakkale for overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 9 (Fri) Gallipoli/Dardanelles/ Istanbul
Morning departure for Gallipoli and visit Anzac Cove Lone pine cemetery, Chunuk Bair, Gabatepe War Museum, then across Dardanelles drive to Istanbul for overnight. (B,L)
Day 10 (Sat) Istanbul
Morning CME MEETING, followed by a tour that includes a visit to the Topkapi Palace and Museum, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Sophia's, and the Grand Bazaar. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant with belly dancing entertainment. (B,L,D)
Day 11 (Sun) Depart Istanbul
Morning flight to New York City. (B)
