Day 1, (Thu) New York/Delhi, India
Join our evening departure from New York to Delhi.
Day 2, (Fri) Delhi
Arrive at Delhi, Capital of India. Meet a representative in the arrival area and transfer to hotel for check in.
Day 3, (Sat) Delhi
After breakfast attend CME program. In the afternoon visit New Delhi, designed and built by the British in the 1920'sYou will visit two monuments - Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. Your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Rastrapati Bhawan and Parliament House. Also visit a local temple. Welcome dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 4, (Sun) Delhi
Start the day with a half day tour of Old Delhi, ancient 300-year-old walled city. Here you will see the Red Fort. The fort is Shah Jehan's symbol of power and elegance; Its main gate (Lahore Gate) faces Chandni Chowk. Also visit Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Afternoon at leisure and dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
Day 5, (Mon) Delhi/Agra
After breakfast, depart by motor coach for Agra. Your tour this afternoon takes you to the pristine poetry of the Taj Mahal - magnificent monument of love, a memorial of white marble and precious stones for the wife of Emperor Shah Jehan on her death. Visit the impressive imposing Agra Fort, where you are taken through the chambers of this royal residence, two storied tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah bearing mosaics and inlaid with semi precious stones. Day 6, (Tue) Agra/Jaipur
After breakfast, depart by motor coach for Jaipur. Enroute visit the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1567. Enjoy lunch at Bharatpur. Arrive in Jaipur, known as the “Pink City.” (B,L)
Day 7, (Wed) Jaipur
Morning excursion to the inspiring honey-colored Amber Palace Fort. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon sightseeing tour where you will a visit the City Palace Museum and the Jantar Mantar (an accurate observatory built in 1726 AD). Also included is the photo visit at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). (B,L)
Day 8, (Thu) Jaipur/Mumbai
After breakfast, take a morning flight to Mumbai. Transfer to Hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of Mumbai City, which includes 'Gateway of India' overlooking the Harbour, Marine Drive', the Dhobi Ghat, the unique and colorful outdoor 'laundry' (done by hand by hundreds of Dhobis). Drive up to the Malabar Hill to the lovely 'Hanging Gardens'. Also visit Mani Bhawan, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Prince of Wales museum. Dinner. (B,D)
Day 9, (Fri) Mumbai
After breakfast, take a boat excursion to an UNESCO World Heritage site. The Elephanta Island, the site of the magnificent Elephanta caves, containing beautiful carvings, sculptures, and a temple to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva, was excavated between the 450 & 750 A.D. Afternoon: attend CME program. This evening, join in a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 10, (Sat) Mumbai/New York
Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the USA. Arriving in the mid-afternoon, culminating a visit to a country about which Mark Twain wrote “The most extraordinary country that the sun visits on its rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked.” (B)
