Day 1: Friday - New York
Evening departure from New York for your overnight flight to Nairobi.
Day 2: Saturday - Nairobi, Kenya
Evening arrival in Nairobi, the city of flowers, a capital of Kenya. Here you will find all the amenities of modern civilization and an invigorating climate rarely exceeding 80 degrees during the days with cool nights. Although a very modern city the ever changing street scene is there to remind you that this is still Africa; the beginning of a great adventure where the wonders of nature and remarkable sights and sounds unfold before you. Meet Representative at airport and transfer to city hotel.
Day 3: Sunday - Nairobi
After breakfast you will be collected for your excursion to Karen Blixen Museum and Giraffe Manor. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. In the evening there will be a welcome dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 4: Monday – Ngorongoro, Tanzania
This morning’s drive will take us via Arusha to Ngorongoro. One of the highlights of our safari will be the 2000 foot descent into the 100 square mile floor of the Ngorongoro Crater-Africa's "Garden of Eden" and one of the most spectacular reserves in Africa. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Tuesday - Ngorongoro, Tanzania / Lake Manyara
This morning, after breakfast, board the 4x4 wheel – drive landrovers and descend in the crater floor for maximum Six hours game viewing. There are lions, buffalos, hyenas, antelopes, gazelles and the rare black rhino to be photographed. Return back to Ngorongoro wildlife lodge for late lunch. Afternoon transfer to your hotel in Lake Manyara. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Wednesday - Lake Manyara
After breakfast, travel this morning to Lake Manyara stopping at a LOCAL FIELD HOSPITAL. Lunch at the Lodge and afternoon excursion to the National park visiting the River Simba to see families of Hippos and to the Acacia Forest to see the tree-climbing lions, also leopards, baboons, elephants and giraffes appear suddenly out of the bushes. Day 7: Thursday - Lake Manyara / Nairobi, Kenya
After early breakfast, start the day going back to Arusha and on to Namanga with picnic lunch, making a stop at a LOCAL FIELD HOSPITAL. Upon arrival in Nairobi, transfer to your hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Friday - Nairobi / Samburu Reserve
This morning we safari north to the Samburu Game Reserve; an area of spectacular scenery and rich in photographic opportunities. Enjoy two days in this exciting reserve filled with unusual game and an astonishing variety of birds. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Saturday - Samburu Reserve
Full day game viewing, lunch in the National Park Reserve and by the River Eyasi N'Giri looking for crocodiles. Return to Lodge for dinner. (B, L, D)
Day 10: Sunday - Samburu / Mt. Kenya
After breakfast, drive up the escarpment to Nanyuki, an area of spectacular scenery and rich in photographic opportunities, arriving in time for lunch at the Club; with its reputation for elegance, it is a legend by itself. (B, L, D)
Day 11: Monday - Mt. Kenya
Drive to Nyeri this morning to visit the LOCAL FIELD HOSPITAL, then continue to your Lodge in the foothills of Mount Kenya. After lunch, game viewing from the lodge. The area is bathed in floodlights, which attract the animals throughout the night; elephant, rhino and many other species. (B, L, D)
Day 12: Tuesday - Mt. Kenya / Nairobi
After breakfast, travel to Nairobi for lunch.
Afternoon: ATTEND CME PROGRAM. (B, L, D)
Day 13: Wednesday - Nairobi / Masai Mara
Depart early to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Mara is the northern border of the Serengeti and teems with roaming herds of plains animals including the "Big Five", — lions, rhinos, leopards, elephants and cape buffalo. (B, L, D)
Day 14: Thursday - Masai Mara
All day game drives from the lodge or, take an Optional hot air Balloon Safari offering a unique vantage point of Masai Mara and wildlife below. (B, L, D)
Day 15: Friday - Masai Mara / Nairobi
We depart for Nairobi this morning. In the afternoon, enjoy time to relax by the pool. Join us for a farewell dinner before our late evening flight. (B, D)
Day 16: Saturday - Return to USA
Arrive in USA in the afternoon.
