Day 1 (Fri) New York/Cairo
Depart New York for your overnight flight to Cairo on Egyptair.
Day 2 (Sat) Cairo
Afternoon arrival in Cairo, capital of Egypt, bursting with movement and life and radiant with a glorious past. Our visit will take us back some 50 centuries to the splendors of the Pharaohs. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 3 (Sun) Cairo/Giza
Your journey this morning will take you to Giza where in the year 2690BC some 100,000 men took almost 20 years to build the great Pyramid of Pharaoh Keops. It covers 13 acres and has a volume of 215 million cubic meters. Nearby is the mythical statue with the body of a lion and the face of a man - the Sphinx. This afternoon we will go to the ancient capital of Memphis to see the fallen statue of Ramses ll. Then to Sakkara to view the Step Pyramid of King Zoser. (B)
Day 4 (Mon) Cairo/Nile Cruise-Luxor
This morning we fly to Luxor to board your deluxe Nile River Cruise ship. It affords a unique vantage point passing monuments and temples throughout your journey. This afternoon visit Karnak Temple, an entire city whose vastness is unequalled in all of Egypt. The temple includes the great statue of Ramses ll, the Avenue of the Sphinx, Hyperstyle Hall and more. Karnak has to be seen to be believed. Visit the Luxor Temple, dedicated to Amun-Ra whose marriage to “Mut” was celebrated annually. Transfer to your ship for embarkation. Afternoon is at leisure. This evening you will enjoy a spectacular Sound and light show at the Karnak Temple. (B,L,D)
Day 5 (Tue) Nile Cruise-Luxor/Esna
This morning we go to the Necropolis of Thebes and Valley of the Kings to visit the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs. The tomb walls still bear their original colors. Visit the Temple of El Deir El Bahary and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut followed by the Valley of the Queens, and the Colossus of Memnon. This afternoon we set sail for the Esna Lock & the Temple of Horus in Edfu. (B,L,D)
Day 6 (Wed) Nile Cruise-Edfu/ Kom Ombo
This morning we visit the Temple dedicted to the God Horus in Edfu, it is the best preserved Temple in Egypt. Transfer back to the ship and sail to Kom Ombo, dedicated to Gods Sobek and Harories, famous for it’s twin entrance, halls and sanctuaries. Enjoy dinner onboard the ship this evening, as you continue sailing to Aswan. (B,L,D)
Day 7 (Thu) Nile Cruise-Aswan

We arrive in Aswan this morning and visit the splendid Philae Temple and the quarries to see the unfinished Obelisk and from where the Pyramid stones were cut. Next, visit the Aswan High Dam, the largest rock filled dam in the world. Continue on a relaxing Felucca ride around Elephantine Islands, you will view the Mausoleum of Aga Khan and the botanical gardens on Kitchener Island.

Day 8 (Fri) Aswan/Abu Simbel/Cairo
Leave by air this morning to visit the historic temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses ll. The temples were moved to their present site to protect them from the rising waters of the Nile in a marvelous feat of engineering. This afternoon we return by air to Cairo. Farewell dinner this evening. Overnight at your hotel. (B,D)
Day 9 (Sat) Cairo

Morning visit to Old Cairo, to see the hanging church, the 8th century Beni-Ezra Synagogue housing ancient manuscripts, then visit the Citadel of Saladin and the Mohammed Ali Mosque. This afternoon, continue with a visit to the world famous Egyptian Museum containing the largest and most comprehensive collection of Pharaonic art, including the fabulous treasure of Tutankhamun. Day 10 (Sun) Cairo/New York
Morning departure for your flight to New York, ending a truly memorable journey to an ancient and historic land. (B)
