Day 1: Friday - New York/Budapest
Evening overnight flight from New York to Budapest.
Day 2: Saturday - Budapest, Hungary
Arrival into Budapest and transfer to hotel. Welcome dinner this evening in a local restaurant. (D)
Day 3: Sunday - Budapest
Start the morning sightseeing the "Paris of the East". The Danube River divides the city into two parts, Buda and Pest; tour begins in Pest and includes the Parliament, Royal Palace, Heroes' Square and Market Hall. Cross the Danube over the Elizabeth Bridge to the Buda Hills. Visit the Citadel on Mount Gellert, and then continue to the 13th century Matthias Coronation Church on Castle Hill. Enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city from Fisherman's Bastion. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 4: Monday - Budapest
Morning: ATTEND CME PROGRAM. Enjoy the afternoon on your own. You can visit the Opera House, a spa on Margaret’s Island or shopping for interesting antiques. Walk Budapest’s most elegant road “Andrassy Avenue” (World Heritage site), and visit the old Music Academy or the Museum of Fine Arts. (B)
Day 5: Tuesday - Danube Bend and Vienna, Austria
This morning we'll motor westbound to Vienna, the stately capital of Austria. En route visit the 14th century artists' colony of Szentendre including the Margit Kovacs Museum and the Orthodox Church. Continue on to Visegrad for optional lunch. We reach Vienna late this afternoon. (B)
Day 6: Wednesday - Vienna, Austria
Morning sightseeing of the "waltz" city includes the Ringstrasse where we view the Opera House, Belvedere Gardens, St. Stephen's Church, the Prater Amusement Park. Afterwards visit the lavish 1200 room Schoenbrunn Palace. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 7: Thursday - Prague, Czech Republic
This morning depart for Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. The capital’s historical center, is more than ten centuries old and enchants its visitors through its unique symbiosis of many architectural styles – from Romanesque rotundas, Gothic towers, and Renaissance burghers’ houses and palaces to the Jewish synagogues, Baroque churches, convents and monasteries. (B)
Day 8: Friday - Prague
Sightseeing this morning includes the 9th century Hradcany Castle complex, important in Czech history. St.Vitus Cathedral containing the Bohemian Crown Jewels. Continue down the Golden Lane to the Charles Bridge, the Jewish Ghetto, the Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical Clock and Wenceslas Square. Afternoon: ATTEND CME PROGRAM. (B)
Day 9: Saturday - Prague
Enjoy all day at leisure. Plenty of opportunities for individual activities: Visit Konopiste or Karlstajn Castles, or take a cruise along the Vltava River. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant. (B,D)
Day 10: Sunday - Prague/New York
Depart Prague for your flight to New York arriving in the mid-afternoon, culminating a wonderful visit to three of Europe's most historic cities. (B)
